Owl Bucks

Please read this important message about Owl Bucks:

There is a temporary disruption to facilitating Owl Bucks deposits and this will be resolved over the next couple of weeks, please stand by for further messaging on this subject.

Here is some information on the new system:

  • The GET platform is gone for all functions, including online and mobile deposits of Owl Bucks, online ordering, and card management.
  • The GET platform will be replaced by two separate platforms, one for mobile ordering at on-campus locations, and one for card management and mobile deposits.
  • There will no longer be a mobile ID credential for use on your phone. You will need to have your physical ID card for all transactions moving forward.
  • Off-campus partners have been suspended until a system replacement is in place to enable Owl Bucks transactions. The timeframe of the return of service is yet to be determined by the vendor.
  • Vending machines are part of the off-campus partners and will not accept Owl Bucks until a solution is developed by the vendor.

The following on-campus locations are now accepting Owl Bucks from both students and employees:

  • TJ Bistro
  • Mailroom
  • University Gear Shop
  • Other dining locations when open for business

Please remember to always keep your ID card with you when on campus. Locations are not allowed to accept Owl Bucks without your physical card present. Other individuals may not use your card for any purpose. Keep your card safe and treat it as you would a credit or debit card. Do not share your CWID number (“A” number) with others.

 

Owl Bucks are available for use at campus foodservice venues, the University Bookstore, Ely Campus Center Mailroom, and many campus vending machines.

At the start of each semester, Owl-Bucks may be purchased through the Student Bill process, by using the “Bill and Payment Adjustment Form” to request that an optional charge be added to the student’s account. However, Owl-Bucks are otherwise separate from the student account and Student Bill, and may not be transferred back to the student account to pay an unpaid balance, except when a student graduates or withdraws from the College (see below). When returned bill paperwork erroneously omits waivers, includes calculation or other errors, or does not reflect new charges added to the account since the bill was printed, the optional Owl-Bucks charge may be reduced to bring the account into balance.

Owl Bucks balances carry forward from semester to semester, as long as a student is enrolled. When a student graduates or withdraws from the University, Owl Buck balances are transferred in full as a credit back to the student account. Refunds for credit balances are processed as per the policy of the Office of Student Accounts.
