Dr. Andrew Habana Hafner has over 30 years of domestic and international experience in language and literacy education as a teacher, teacher educator, curriculum developer, and researcher. His work intersects fields of second language acquisition, critical pedagogy, critical multicultural education, multiliteracies, social justice and anti-racism education.

Projects
"Crossroad of Democracy" -- This project was designed in collaboration with the RIDE Center’s Tool Tuesday workshop to create banners using Cricut smart cutting machines, textile design equipment, and other multimedia tools.
- This project intended to encourage students to engage on issues of interest in the 2024 Presidential elections, modeling pedagogies of multimodalities and multiliteracies.
- The project was introduced at a campus Constitution Day Event focused on youth voters, and then displayed at the RIDE Center; where Dr. Hafner brought his other classes for course-connected exercises related to multilingual literacy development.
- Students were training on sewing machines, textile design tools, Cricut Smart cutting machines, and other precise needleworking tools.
