Public Affairs
Public Affairs is the key point of contact between the University and the news media.
What we do:
- Support the mission of Westfield State University by building and maintaining positive communication with the media
- Provide the media with timely information about people and programs at Westfield State
- Bring newsworthy story ideas about Westfield State to the media’s attention – ideas that are new, different, topical, unusual and/or important
- Connect reporters with Westfield State faculty and staff who can contribute expert commentary to their news stories
Publicizing your event:
Publicizing campus events in local listings is the responsibility of the sponsoring organization. Public Affairs will work with you to manage media relations in cases where the speaker or event is likely to draw attention.
Public Affairs is a network comprised of public affairs professionals including ‘homegrown’ talent from within our student body. We are interested in who you are and what you are doing in and around Westfield State University!
