Through a combination of advanced nursing theory and specialized coursework, students develop expertise in psychiatric assessment, differential diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and mental health policy. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the national PMHNP certification exam through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), paving the way for advanced clinical practice in the mental health field.
